Timber Trails Snowmobile Rally
Thanks to everyone who helped out with the Rally. Volunteers make an event successful.
Also, please remember the rally was a one day event. The trails are there to enjoy and shelters with stoves are 22 miles west and 18 miles east of town. The trail system is in place for the entire winter season and grooming will continue as snow conditions warrant. Maps are available from various sources as well via a link on the town website.
Timber Trails Sno Riders hosts an annual Snowmobile Rally the second Saturday of February. Profits from the rally are spent on covering the costs of grooming, signing and maintaining our 200 km of trail and maintaining our two warm-up shelters.
In years when the club did extremely well with the rally it contributed to community projects, such as the building of the new hospital, new community hall, improvements at the Recreation Centre and others. Total community donations to date amount to more than $25,000.
The club has approximately 30 members, but has the support of the entire community when the actual day of the rally comes. Many volunteers who are not snowmobilers work the day of the rally. Once again, it is very evident how unique our community is when you see everyone work together to help the club host such a successful event, and the clubs thanks the volunteers of Big River.
